Alternate Fuel Vehicles
The imperatives of reduced dependence on foreign oil and reduction of CO2 and other emissions have made alternate fuels a key area of automotive development. Livernois has been a part of key pilot programs of several new technologies over the years. Highlights of our projects are:
- Prototype CNG installations for a variety of field demonstrations, including police cars, taxis, pickup trucks, and buses
- Prototype Hydrogen ICE installations for small cars, pickup trucks, and shuttle buses
- Test rigs for cold weather development of Hydrogen ICE and CNG engines
- Portable hydrogen fuel carts for engine test cells
- Fuel system fabrication for CNG, propane, hydrogen, ethanol, and methanol
- Bi-Fuel cars and mail trucks
- Mileage accumulation testing for ULEV and SULEV CNG vehicles
- Supercharger packaging and performance development for H2 ICE applications
- Cylinder head development for CNG, LPG, and FFV applications
- Hydrogen fuel tank module
- Hybrid electric vehicle crash safety development
