Component Fabrication and Manufacturing
LVD’s fabrication capabilities range from one-off custom prototype parts to low-volume production, and include metal and composite parts as well as wiring harnesses and electronic modules. Working from your 3D CAD models, your sketches, or your ideas, our teams of fabricators can produce the components you need.
Metal
Our metal forming, fabrication, and machining facilities include:
- Presses ranging to 1300 tons
- CNC Mills
- Comprehensive welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Arc, spot welding, etc)
- Surface plates
- Brake presses
- Shears
Composites
LVD’s composite department produces parts in a wide range of composite, polymer, and elastomeric materials. We work from clients’ concept sketches or CAD models to develop clay models and tooling. Production capabilities include vacuum forming.
Vacuum Forming
Our vacuum forming equipment accommodates blanks up to 5’ x 10’ and can form ABS, Polypropylene, or acrylic materials up to ¼” thick. We can make short-run tooling to accommodate easy design adjustment or composite long-run tooling to accommodate large production runs.
Electrical and Electronics
LVD’s electrical shop creates custom or low-volume wiring harnesses for vehicle electrical distribution or instrumentation, as well as electronic modules to provide desired functionality.
Harnesses and components can be made to demanding automotive or military specifications. Vehicle applications range from sub-compact cars to large military vehicles, to support vehicle operation and control or engineering instrumentation. Past projects have included many harnesses with wiring for over 300 circuits. Breadboard testing services are also available.
Our expert staff can build Programmable Logic Controllers and/or develop programs to your specifications using C or Assembly code.
Manufacturing
Throughout much of its history, Livernois has been a supplier of components and manufacturing technology to the automotive industry, and continues to manufacture parts in limited quantities. Recent examples include:

- Wiring harnesses
- Headlight bezels
- Exhaust systems
